The Xyveraspin is a perilous underwater plant found within the Nara Archipelago. Though classified as flora, its defensive nature and destructive capabilities have made it one of the most difficult Sylvanites to study. From a distance, it appears to be little more than a strange organic formation, yet closer inspection reveals its complex structure. Its main stem consists of a dense organic body that burrows deep beneath the seabed, anchored firmly by thick vine-like cords. These roots feed on microscopic life embedded within the ocean floor, generating subtle vibrations that can be felt hundreds of meters away, effectively warning nearby creatures of its hidden presence.
Atop the stem rests a spherical growth, serving as the core of the Xyveraspin’s defense. From numerous organic cavities across its surface, the sphere produces sharp, spike-like projectiles. In its dormant state, the plant glows a deep red. However, when it detects nearby movement through mechanisms still not fully understood, both the vines and the sphere shift into hues of purple and pink, acting as a vivid warning signal. If this warning is ignored, the Xyveraspin releases its spikes with tremendous force, reportedly strong enough to wound even a Savavian. After firing, the sphere returns to its red state and gradually regenerates its projectiles. Despite this recovery period, it is far from safe to approach, as Xyveraspins rarely grow alone. Instead, they form vast underwater groves where multiple individuals remain active, ensuring the entire area functions as a nearly impenetrable natural defense network.
