Over time, its bark has darkened to absorb light more efficiently, a crucial adaptation for survival in such a low-light habitat. The oldest known specimen reaches a height of 8 meters and is estimated to be over 700 years old, a figure supported by historical accounts from long-lived Elior. These trees thrive in the Lumicryst Caves due to the biome’s stable conditions, including consistent humidity, minimal temperature variation, and an almost complete absence of seasonal change.
